Bodyweight Cardio for Surfing – Wave Machine Workout

Need a quick cardio workout you can do at home with minimal equipment to help build your fitness for surfing so you can catch more waves and shred harder?

Try the “Wave Machine” workout. It’s only 2 exercises, but it will get your heart pumping and paddle muscles firing on all cylinders.

Here’s how it works…

Complete the following two exercise circuit 4x through without resting between exercises:

– Swiss Ball Split Jacks x 40 reps (20 each leg)
– Swiss Ball Air Paddles x 40 reps (20 each arm)

For an extra challenge, rest and repeat the workout another 1 or 2 times.

  • The Swiss Ball Split Jacks will help improve your lower leg muscle endurance, agility, coordination and core stability which are all important attributes for surfers.
  • The Swiss Ball Air Paddles will help build the endurance in your paddling muscles so you can paddle harder for longer.

Do twice a week for a 3-4 weeks and you will boost your paddle fitness to increase your wave count.
