March Dynamic Warm-up

Move Better With This Total Body Warm-up

To celebrate the launch of the Surf ‘n’ Snow Fitness High Performance Club I thought I would share with you the dynamic warm-up from the March High Performance Conditioning Camp.

This warm-up is great for helping improve you functional movement capabilities. The exercises used are chosen to help with the following…

  1. Enhance your mobility and improve your range of motion (such as hips and thoracic spine)
  2. Activate the correct muscles so that they will fire properly when doing the exercises in the workout (eg. glutes)
  3. Improve stability and balance and prepare your muscles for the workout

.

You can do this warm-up before any of your strength workouts.

Warmup Instructions – Complete 8 reps of each of the exercises…

  • Lying Leg Raise
  • Lying Lateral Leg Raise
  • Single Leg Glute Bridge
  • Quadruped Rotation
  • Swiss Ball Stickups
  • Spiderman Climb with Reach
  • Band Row to External Rotation
  • Swiss Ball Split Squat
